3/1/09 - TSSOC hosts Applicant/Training Day at PocoLoco Paintball

Applicant/Training Day March 1 marked TSSOC's first applicant recruiting and training event for 2009. The team met nine new recruits at our home field Poco Loco Paintball for a day of evaluation and training led by our Recruit Evaluation and Assessment Combat Team (REACT) NCOICs Pete "Keg" Walker and Simon "Bulldog" Nadler.

The day began with a brief introduction from each of our applicants followed by some kind words of encouragement from our senior NCO SGM Nightmare. "You have to earn your place on this team! We don't just hand these patches out to anyone who shows up with a marker! Everything you do from here on out will be a test and we will be watching."

TSSOC broke into two squads to begin the day's drills on Poco's Deadwood field where we enjoyed a little force-on-force gameplay amongst the numerous buildings and bunkers across the field. We then moved up to the castle to practice some close-quarter combat and taking a reinforced structure. We took a short break where TSSOC's Training team reviewed some basic hand signals, formations, and movement drills and then moved the squads up to Shanghai Village to continue our evaluations and training exercises.

At the end of the day Tri-State was impressed with what we saw in our newest crop of recruits! The team would like to thank the applicants for bringing their "A" game all day and for showing us what you are made of. Some of these applicants will surely prove they have what it takes to be a member of TSSOC!

1/25/09 - TSSOC earns Most Valuable Team award at Hawaii scenario "A Royal Wedding"

A Royal Wedding For the second year in a row, Tri-State Special Operations Command made the journey from Philadelphia, PA to Oahu, Hawaii for fun, sun and scenario paintball. "A Royal Wedding," presented by Island Paintball and Oahu Scenarios was a two-day scenario game based on the film The Princess Bride. TSSOC chose to play for the vicious yet hilarious Pirate team again, hoping for a bit of a rematch from last year. Last year's trip to the Hawaii was one of Tri-State's most memorable expeditions of the season, and with this year's game promising to be even more action-packed, Tri-State's shooters couldn't wait for the game to begin!

With the bellowing sound of an air horn, the game was on. Right from the beginning Tri-State was tasked with whipping around the enemy's flanks and engaging them from the rear. Tri-State was able to penetrate deep behind enemy lines, disrupting enemy communications and allowing the primary Pirate strike force to quickly overrun the headquarters of their Goon foes. All through the day, Tri-State worked closely with their commanding officer to maximize their tactical usefulness and bring in the most points possible for the Pirate forces. Tri-State's own Sgt. Michael "Chops" Zigon used his tactical knowledge and radio protocols to act as liaison between the General's overall strategy and the troops in the field. Despite spending much of the first day defending their headquarters, the Pirates still managed to score quality points by completing mission after mission.

By the second day, Tri-State's shooters had mastered the terrain and were using it to their advantage to accomplish their objectives. "This jungle setting is unbelievable, and is completely different from anything you would see back on the east coast," said Tri-State Private Sean "Khaos" Farley. In one particular mission, Tri-State was tasked with building a flower arrangement as a gift for the Princess Butterfinger while on the move and taking sniper fire from all sides. Though the Pirates held on to a slight lead by the end of the second day, the unrelenting determination of the Goon forces threatened that lead at every turn and forced Tri-State to remain on its guard if they wanted to hold onto it.

After two hard fought days of paintball in the Hawaiian jungle, the moment came for the final battle. In the center of the field stood the Princess, who needed to be escorted by either side back to that side's base for the win. With the point count so tight, the Pirate forces needed a win in this battle to solidify their victory. Despite a fearsome volley of fire by Goon forces, the Pirate forces were able to secure the Princess and escort her back unharmed in under four minutes.

At the end of the weekend, a battered yet resolute Pirate force scored a victory over their relentless Goon foes. For the second year in a row, Tri-State Special Operations Command was awarded the Most Valuable Team for the Pirate forces! TSSOC salutes our opposing Goon forces and thanks them for a hard-fought and honorable game! Tri-State would also like to thank Island Paintball for always being such quality hosts, Gary Baum of Paintball Photography and our new and old friends from the island including Argent Force, Damage Inc, and Lockdown.

11/22/08 - Tri-State Special Operations Command takes on the Marines in the Battle of Iwo Jima at SplatBrothers Paintball Park

Battle of Iwo Jima HOPEWELL, VA - At 0700 hours on an unseasonably frigid Virginia morning, Tri-State Special Operations Command paintball team mustered their ranks to participate in the SplatBrothers R.A.W. series "Battle for Iwo Jima." Modeled after the legendary World War II invasion of the Pacific island of Iwo Jima, this battle promised to a particularly difficult one, for today the players would have to struggle with the biting cold of Mother Nature as well as with the ferocity of their opponents. Knowing the challenges that lay ahead of them, Tri-State's warriors fervently prepared themselves to battle the U.S. Marines and repulse them at all costs!

With the beginning battle upon them, Tri-State rushed to their objective to take a hold a position known as "The Village," while their comrades from team Assault and Battery were tasked with securing firing positions along the enemy's extreme left flank. The Imperial Japanese forces, under the command of General Nate "Farva" Postle, sought to repel the onslaught of the United States Marines, under the command of General Becky "O" O'Neil, by quickly enveloping and suppressing any attempts to break out of the area surrounding their HQ. After putting the Marine skirmishers in the village to flight, Tri-State secured the objective and took up defensive positions. Once the early points were secured, Tri-State received orders to advance into the infamous SplatBrothers Barn, the center of the field and arguably the most fought-over objective in the park. Tri-State zealously assaulted the position and eliminated the defenders as they attempted to flee back to secondary positions. From inside the Barn, Tri-State poured heavy weapons fire into the American lines, breaking their defensive lines and allowing Japanese troops to lead an assault directly on the American HQ for the first Base Kill of the day.

Not long after the American General was eliminated, the U.S. Marines came seeking retribution by attacking the Japanese right flank in-force and eliminating their outermost defensive positions. Tri-State was called upon once again, this time to repel the American onslaught to the last man. The Japanese forces began to turn back their opponents when a well-placed bazooka round found its way to the Japanese C.P. and destroyed it. Their mission objective secured, the Marines withdrew back to defensive positions. After reestablishing themselves, the Japanese general once more ordered Tri-State into the fray. "We were on the move all day, taking objectives and holding positions for points," said Corporal Bob "Boss" Bosco, "Our maneuvering and coordination with other squads on our team was top-notch, and I was very impressed!"

Tri-State took part in the Final Battle with a difficult mission to achieve: Take and hold the flag station at the bottom of the speed ravine and raise the Japanese flag there for points. At the start of the final battle, Tri-State rushed the ravine, taking up superior positions and pouring highly accurate fire into the enemy lines. The Americans, however, held fast in the face of this ferocity, returning fire and determined to hold their positions. Despite the courageous efforts of the Imperial Japanese forces, the US Marines were able to secure enough points from the final battle to eke out a 340 to 320 point win on the slopes of Mount Suribachi, and Tri-State congratulates them on a very hard-fought win. Both sides fought with tenacity and honor, and are to be commended for their play. Tri-state had a very successful day, despite the freezing temperatures wreaking havoc with the performance of their equipment, and was able to represent themselves well in spite of the weather. Tri-State had a great time in Virginia, and is eager to get back to SplatBrothers for their 2009 season!

10/6/08 - Poco Loco Paintball is the new home of Tri-State Special Operations Command!

Poco Loco Paintball TSSOC is thrilled to announce an exclusive partnership with Poco Loco Paintball, the area's premier paintball field located outside Philadelphia in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. For most of the team, this new partnership is the solidification of a relationship going back as far as 14 years. "I played my first paintball at Poco Loco in 1994," says TSSOC Sgt. 9/20/08 - TSSOC earns MVT with a victory over Allied Forces in the Battle of Monte Cassino!

Battle for Monte Cassino On a beautiful September morning in southeastern Virginia, Tri-State Special Operations Command established base camp, readied their gear, and prepared to engage the Allied forces in the Battle of Monte Cassino at Splatbrothers paintball park. The Allied teams under the command of Spike from Team BeBop sought to secure the hilltop Abbey early in the battle and establish a fortified defensive line to prevent the Germans from gaining a foothold on this key position. However, the German forces led by Jet, also of Team BeBop, had other ideas. TSSOC was given standing orders to be on the offensive constantly, relying on lightning-fast and non-stop attacks to achieve and secure their objectives.

The game began with the tremendous sound of a simulation artillery round, and Tri-State moved toward their first objective: Take and hold Monte Cassino Abbey at all costs. Making their way up the heavily fortified hill toward their objective, Tri-State employed the bounding over watch techniques to quickly suppress and envelop pockets of Allied resistance. Once they reached the Abbey itself (a large, two-story barn,) Tri-State members stacked the door, softened up the opfor with grenades, and made entry, quickly eliminating all resistance. After securing the primary objective, Tri-State received orders to rally our remaining forces and lead an assault on the Allied base directly.

The Allied base was comprised of a heavily fortified series of trenches and towers, with opfor lying in wait to defend every inch of it. Below the towers, in the center of Allied web of defenses, was an air horn which had to be sounded to signal a successful "base kill" and score points for the German side. While the rest of the German team assaulted the trenches directly, Tri-State moved around the Allied flanks and assaulted the towers directly to take these critical positions. With the towers secured, the German forces began to eliminate the Allied defenders from above, while Tri-State members on the ground moved in to sound the horn and signal the first "base kill" of the game.

From the first base kill, initiative and momentum was with the German forces, repulsing wave after wave of Allied troops attempting to break through our battle line. Digging in, Tri-State members and their fellow German forces secured a perimeter that allowed them to score multiple base kills, which lasted only until a gutsy and aggressive flanking maneuver by General Spike's Allied forces broke the siege and forced the Germans back to Monte Cassino. "Tri-State was in the thick of it all day, flanking positions, laying down suppressing fire, and sweeping structures for OpFor," said Tri-State XO, Capt. Chris "Topher" Matsinger. "We were all over that field and I am proud of how well the team performed."

After a long day of hard fighting, it was time for the hour long final battle. The goal: to get our side's battle standard into a tower and own the tower at the end of the battle. Tri-State volunteered to bear the standard for the German forces and lead our troops into battle. At the end of a furious, hour long firefight, the German team had secured the center tower for the points and the overall win on the day! Our Allied opponents put up a fierce fight, and we salute them for their honorable and tenacious play. For their Efforts on the field, TSSOC was awarded the Most Valuable Team award for the German forces. Tri-State members had an excellent day, and are looking forward to their next game at SplatBrothers!

8/30/08 - Tri-State at Tippmann Extravaganza 2008

Tippmann Extravaganza Nestled high in the mountains of northern Pennsylvania lies one of paintball's most venerable and unique fields: EMR Paintball Park, the site of the 2008 Tippmann Extravaganza. Five members of the Tri-State Special Operations Command Paintball team made their way to this classic field, looking to lend their firepower to the Allied team. The weather was cool and clear, a perfect day for a paintball battle, and Tri-State was eager to begin!

The opening horn brought a massive German onslaught upon the hastily improvised Allied positions. The German assault consisted of infantry supported by armor, and the Allies were forced onto the defensive early in the battle, attempting to repulse the attack. TSSOC, along with members of Yankee Division Paintball Team, were ordered by the Allied General, Dustin "PsYchO" Farrell of Team Delta, to counter-assault the German left flank and attempt to divert German reinforcements, while the Allied forces attempt to break the German center and gain control of the field. Tri-State engaged the flank of the main German force, eliminating several defenders before the Germans knew what hit them. This flanking maneuver created the opening which allowed the main Allied force to advance forward through the confused Germans to the highly defensible positions in the center of the field. "The full foliage and hilly terrain of this field lends itself well to our style of play," said Pvt. Jeremy "Jester" Brosious, "It is exacly this style of deep woods fighting that Tri-State loves!"

Later in the day, the German command attempted a bold maneuver in retaliation. Pushing through the Allied far right flank, the German shock troops made an end run around behind Allied positions towards their CP. Hearing the call on the radio that the rear sentries had been heavily engaged, Tri-State and Yankee Division disengaged from their current fight and rushed to the rear of the Allied base, where they found a sizeable German force advancing up the hill towards their flank. Skirmishing with the German forces, Tri-State was able to hold off their cunning attack until further reinforcements from team Delta and team Ragnarok could arrive. Tri-State then moved back to the front to further assist the Allied advance.

Despite the courageous efforts of the Allied Forces, the German team managed to hold on for the overall point lead and the win for the event, and Tri-State salutes them for their excellent, honorable play. "Win or lose, EMR is always a great field to play," Said Spc. John "Thunder" DePaolantonio. "I am never disappointed by these games."

7/12/08 - Tri-State Special Operations Command takes on the German War Machine at IoN 2008

ION 2008 The epic Invasion of Normandy 24-hour scenario game at Skirmish USA is a traditional high-water mark for the summer paintball season. Every year, thousands of players from all across America make the journey to be just a small part of this extraordinary paintball event. This year, the battle promised to be a fierce one, with three thousand players going head-to-head simultaneously on Skirmish's 700 acres, making the Invasion of Normandy the premier paintball event in the world. After a crushing defeat at the hands of the Allies in the prior year's Invasion, the German War Machine was looking for a little payback, and Tri-State stood ready and willing to defend last-year's Allied victory!

Under the supreme command of Allied General Phil "Silence" Whalen, Tri-State and their CO, Maj. James "BigDino" DiNardo, were charged with organizing and leading Echo company, which was comprised of approximately 100 players for the duration of the battle. Our orders were clear: Assault the center of the German line and hold them on Sword Beach while elements of Alpha, Bravo and Foxtrot companies hit the Germans hard on their right flank and sweep them off the beach, opening the beachhead to the bulk of the allied invasion force. With their landing craft full and the anticipation high, Tri-State eagerly awaited the task ahead.

Rushing from the boats, Tri-State lead Echo company in its thrust against the formidable German bulwark. Allies crept slowly up the beach, holding their fire until they were in range to conserve supplies and allowing the Germans to expend their ammunition on the advancing tide. Casualties we high in the opening wave as the highly accurate German rifle fire cut into the Allied ranks. Despite this, wave after wave of Allied reinforcements poured ashore, bolstering the assaulting ranks. After opening up a second front, Tri-State lead Echo company and elements from Foxtrot company as the Allies fought to extend the lines deeper into Normandy and secure their HQ. "This is the event we train all year for," said Maj. James "BigDino" DiNardo, "No other scenario allows Tri-State to play almost every aspect of mil-sim scenario paintball. From battlefield coordination and communications to unit tactics and maneuvers - this game has it all!"

After two days of hard fighting, the German's had beaten the tenacious and steadfast Allied invaders by only 19 points, giving them the overall victory. Both sides, battered but not broken, had played an excellent game, and Tri-State congratulates the German War Machine on their hard-fought victory. As always, TSSOC looks forward to going against them at next year's Invasion of Normandy!

6/7/08 - TSSOC and VC Forces battle for victory at NJ NAM 2008!

NJ NAM 08On June 7th, 2008, Tri-State Special Operations Command joined USANA Paintball in New Jersey for the annual NJNAM Scenario Game. Over 1,000 players were divided into four factions that would be doing battle that weekend: Viet Cong, Americans, Cambodians, and the CIA. As part of the Viet Cong, Tri-State hit the battlefield with 18 troops alongside many other superb players including seven of our Yankee Division brethren.

At the whistle the VC exploded with a surge towards the enemy command post, laying waste to all Americans in their path. Within the first hour of the battle the Americans retaliated with a colossal and well-coordinated frontal assault through the neutral areas straight towards the VC HQ. Although many of the VC had been routed during the American assault, Tri-State and the reinserting VC were able to slam the Americans from the front and both flanks, forcing a US withdrawal. By mid-day the Americans were in a defensive stance within their shrinking borders as the VC took control of most of the field.

A misunderstanding caused the Cambodians to break their treaty of neutrality with the VC who had accidentally killed a member of the Cambodian military, and they now wanted revenge or war. The VC General called for three volunteers to sacrifice themselves in order to appease the Cambodians and uphold the treaty. For the good of the VC, Tri-State volunteered three of its members to be martyred who were subsequently and unnecessarily shot multiple times by a Cambodian death squad; but revenge would have to wait for Tri-State...

On day two the Cambodians decided to break the treaty. Unfortunately for them, the VC General was NOT interested in more so-called, "peace talks." Without warning the Viet Cong army charged into Cambodia full of bloodlust and vengeance, cutting down all Cambodians until their HQ was overrun! From that moment on through the rest of the game the VC owned all of Cambodia!! Full of momentum from the crushing of Cambodia, Tri-State and other VC teams went on a full force left flank, conquering everything in its path! The force swung way to behind the American CP where US forces were held for the rest of the game!

The weekend ended with a battle around a centralized flag station. Brave troopers from either side dashed towards the flag station under heavy fire trying to flip the flag to their color. In a dramatic showdown prior to the last seconds of the game, the VC were able to flip the flag to their color before the whistle blew to call the end of game, solidifying a VC win!

5/23/08 - Tri-State battles among the elite at the 2008 Viper Invitational

Viper InvitationalOne evening in late May, six members of the Tri-State Special Operations Command paintball team embarked on a fifteen-hour journey to La Pointe, Indiana and represented TSSOC in their first Viper Invitational paintball tournament. Produced by scenario director Kerry "Viper" Rosenberry, this 300-player "by invitation only" event promised to offer the finest in scenario paintball play and Tri-State's warriors could not wait for the battle to begin!

The American forces, all under the command of Christopher "Professor" Westfahl of Team Ambush Alpha, were comprised of the finest players and teams the East coast had to offer, including Yankee Division, Red Raiders, and the 13th Legionnaires to name a few. The Americans were pitted against the organized and battle-hardened North Vietnamese forces, made up of many local teams who promised to put up a strong resistance.

The site for the scenario was the legendary Sherwood Forest Paintball, one of the most complex and unique fields in the entire country. Inspired by the story of Robin Hood and consisting of a dozen elaborate, medieval-style fortifications, Sherwood Forest is one of the most fascinating fields TSSOC had ever played on and was the perfect backdrop for this event. "Sherwood Forest was an excellent field, with a huge variety of terrain," said TSSOC's Sgt. Michael "Chops" Zigon, "whether in a daytime firefight or stalking the OpFor in extreme night play, this field was always full of surprises!"

The 26-hour event began flawlessly, with the Americans using their "airborne assault" abilities to bring the fight to the entrenched North Vietnamese forces, taking control of the Sherwood Castle early in the battle and using it to anchor our early operations. The airborne assault was a unique form of insertion that the Americans used to reach various parts of the field with impunity, and the General took full advantage of this tactic. TSSOC was in its element as the battle raged into the night, and Tri-State's extensive stealth and night-ops training were put to the test as the two sides stalked one another in the darkness. "The night play was incredible," said TSSOC Sgt. Glen "Gadget" Fedon, "without a doubt the most intense I have ever experienced." The next morning, after late night stand-down of arms, the furious battle resumed. Tri-State was at the forefront of the fighting, taking objectives and running missions. The stage was set for an ultimate final battle between these two elite opposing forces, a battle that would decide the outcome of the event.

At the end of the final battle, the objectives belonged to the forces of the North Vietnamese team, who secured victory over their embattled yet nonetheless resolute American foes. It was a hard-fought victory for General Hawk and his North Vietnamese regulars, and Tri-State congratulates them on their hard-earned victory. Both teams left everything they had on the field and Tri-State is looking forward to next year's exciting Viper Invitational!

4/26/08 - TSSOC and attackers score a win at Castle Conquest XXV!

Castle Conquest XXVThe paintball gods shone again at EMR, making for a beautiful weekend of paintball at Castle Conquest XXV. TSSOC brought four members to this long-standing paintball tradition and helped turned the tide for an attackers win, taking the castle in three and a half hours!

Leading the attackers was Joint Fury, who organized massive pushes and coordinating players throughout the game. Tri-State started up the corner of walls three and four, immediately noticing that wall three was reconfigured - adding to the range of the defender's fire. TSSOC's Silence and Professor used a wave of attackers hitting the middle of wall 4 as distraction and ran down the road of the 3/4 corner to hit the outer wall, only to get obliterated from the new ramparts from wall 3!

The team continued to focus on the 3/4 corner, coordinating covering fire from the left, waiting for a wave from the right, and then finally making it to the castle wall! Professor was the first TSSOC member into the castle but got taken out with a well-placed goggle-shot. Cuz, Silence, and DeathX followed shortly thereafter. TSSOC relayed their success to Joint Fury who immediately implemented the same strategy on a massive scale that led to victory!

Tri-State Special Operations Command would like to thank Blue and his staff at EMR Paintball for adding a welcome twist to the game with the castle change and for providing a great weekend of paintball! A special thank you goes to the referees of the game who were fearless and always on point!

4/13/08 - Tri-State Special Operations Command leads Allied forces at the West Point Big Game!

West Point Big GameReveille sounded at 0600 for the members of TSSOC as we woke from our camp at the U.S. Military Academy to gear up for the 2008 West Point Big Game. TSSOC's XO Chris "TOPHER" Matsinger was honored with the position of Executive Officer for the American Forces, serving under American General Paul "VECTOR" DiNunno of Yankee Division - long-time friends of TSSOC. Topher led his batallion from the field for most of the day, gathering objectives and providing situation reports back to HQ.

Communication, coordination and control were the orders of the day for TSSOC. Tri-State squads led raids on key objectives and provided reinforcement wherever needed on the field, while relaying vital intel back to command. TSSOC was involved on every angle of the front - from engaging positions by the river on the east to supporting the tank battles that raged in the western valley.

In the end the Allies were unable to defeat the Koreans, who were successful at maintaining hold over several key objectives early on, giving them a point lead that carried through the weekend. There were very few missions to speak of - this game was mostly about controlling the battlefield and the overcoming the challenging terrain. The Korean forces pushed the battle lines uphill all day Saturday and successfully defended the field used for the final battle on Sunday for a well-earned victory.

This was Tri-State's first trip to the West Point game and we now know what we have been missing! It was the most mil-sim scenario we have ever played! The atmosphere, the frenzied and intense effects of helo fly-bys, the sim-arti rounds, the 240s and 249s firing away, and the military-grade smoke grenades were absolutely outstanding!

We would like to thank the cadets at West Point who ran a great game! The refs were everywhere and really kept things in line throughout the weekend. In addition, the cadets and all the military staff were extremely professional, courteous and helpful at all times. We salute you, gentlemen!

3/22/08 - Tri-State wins an MVP at Battle for Mt. Samat, PocoLoco Paintball!

Battle for Mt. SamatHeavy snow fell on the morning of March 22nd at PocoLoco Paintball in Eagleville, PA. Despite the weather, teams like Tri-State Special Operations Command, Ambush Alpha, Cursed Company, 13th Legionnaires, House Solstice, RT Raiders, PA Brew Crew, Red Raiders, Team STC, MBP Militia, Team Logos, Deception of Truth, and many others came out to support Ambush Alpha's "Battle of Mt. Samat" game produced by Brian "Rephy" Reph.

Unique in format, the field was broken down into sections and players played four quarters, advancing to a new section of the field with new missions and flag locations each quarter. This year had the Japanese starting at the bottom of the hill fighting up steep, rocky terrain to gain ground on the Americans. Generalling for the American forces was CamoCannon from the 13th Legionnaires and his XO was Nyxx of House Solstice. The Japanese were led by TomCat from Ambush Alpha and Chosen from Cursed Company.

Outnumbered, many Japanese players resorted to daring runs to flip flags - some opting to leave their markers behind so they could move faster through the woods amongst heavy enemy fire. TSSOC spent most of the day battling fiercely on the front line and completed the missions as assigned. Late in the game the Japanese forces with TSSOC launched a strong offensive and proceeded to make a effective push up the right side of the hill until ordered to halt and hold their ground.

The American forces took the victory for the game. At the end of the day, TSSOC's own DeathX was awarded Most Valuable Player for his relentless efforts on the field!

3/1/08 - TSSOC wins MVT and MVP awards at Operation Market Garden, Splatbrothers Paintball Park

Market GardenOn a cold Virginia morning, Tri-State Special Operations Command made their way to SplatBrothers Paintball park in Hopewell, Virginia to aid the American forces in the R.A.W. Series "Operation Market Garden" scenario. The highly-organized and battle-hardened German teams were poised to make this a hard-fought game for the American side, and TSSOC eagerly awaited the challenge.

TSSOC took to the field right from the opening whistle, at first fighting vigorously to repulse a full-scale German assault on the American Headquarters. TSSOC members organized their fellow Americans to repel the German onslaught and once their HQ was secure, TSSOC led the American counter-attack by completing missions, shoring up positions, directing reinforcements to where they were needed, and working closely with American command on battle strategy and tactics. But the tide of battle quickly turned as the German forces took key field positions and repeatedly attacked the American HQ. American forces were on the defensive for a good part of the day as we fought wave after wave of the German offensive.

After an afternoon of hard fighting, the American side was far behind in the point count - the final battle was the only chance to make up that difference. Despite the best efforts of TSSOC and their American allies, the German teams were able to secure all of the final objectives and win the game! We congratulate them on their hard-fought victory and sincerely enjoyed the intense opposition and fair gameplay they gave us all day long!

For their efforts on the field, TSSOC was awarded Most Valuable Team by the American general, and TSSOC's own Elff earned Most Valuable Player honors for his leadership role. We would also like to congratulate Yankee Division on the Most Feared Opponent award for the American forces! TSSOC members had an excellent time in Virginia, and we are looking forward to our next scenario game at Splatbrothers Paintball!

2/4/08 - Tri-State Special Operations Command earns Most Valuable Team and Most Valuable Player honors at Castaway Island Scenario Game in Oahu, Hawaii

Castaway IslandAs dawn broke over the Pacific Ocean, four members of Tri-State Special Operations Command set out to take part in Hawaii's first-ever paintball Scenario game: Island Paintball's Castaway Island! Located on the eastern side of the island of Oahu, Island paintball was an absolutely gorgeous field that offered the very best in jungle-type scenario play. With terrain that promised to test the limits of TSSOC's skills and some of the most friendly and hospitable hosts in the business, TSSOC was eager to begin the battle!

Playing on the side of the swashbuckling Pirates, TSSOC members led the way, introducing their own brand of high intensity milsim scenario play and setting the pace of the game. Tri-State took charge on the field leading numerous missions, reconnoitering the enemy HQ, assassinating the enemy General and defending the Pirate base toward the latter part of the game. TSSOC's infiltration and ambush training served the Pirate team well, as they used their skills stalking through six foot tall grass and dense foliage to repeatedly eliminate the leadership of their Castaway foes! "This is one of the most unique and fun fields I've ever played," said SGT Simon "Bulldog" Nadler "The field owners were some of the friendliest I've ever seen in all my years of playing paintball. I was proud to represent TSSOC in Hawaii's first scenario game!"

After two days of hard fighting, the game came down to a single, final battle. Despite the tenacity of the TSSOC and their Pirate allies, the Castaways were able to pull out a victory and we congratulate them and thank them for a great game. For their efforts, TSSOC was awarded the Most Valuable Team award, and SFC Pete "Keg" Walker was awarded the Most Valuable Player award by the Pirate General, Lyndi "Scarlet" Cox of Team Lockdown. TSSOC had a fantastic time, and looks forward to our next game in the Aloha State!
